Lady's Finger (Bhendi) - Remedy for Diabetes Control

Please note that another name for Lady's Finger (Bhendi ) is ' OKRA '.

Take two pieces of Lady Finger (Bhindi) and remove/cut both ends of each piece. Also, put a small cut in the middle and put these two pieces in glass of water. Cover the glass and keep it at room temperature during night.

Early morning, before breakfast simply remove two pieces of ladyfinger (bhindi) from the glass and drink that water.

Keep doing it on daily basis.

Within two weeks, you will see remarkable results in reduction of your SUGAR.

One of my friend's sister has got rid of her diabetes. She was on Insulin for a few years, but after taking the lady fingers every morning for a few months, she has stopped Insulin but continues to take the lady fingers every day. But she chops the lady fingers into fine pieces in the night, adds the water and drinks it all up the next morning. Please try it as it will not do you any harm even if it does not do much good to you, but U have to keep taking it for a few months before U see results, as most cases might be chronic.

Aerobics:

Warm Up Before and Cool Down After
A good aerobics teacher will incorporate a warm-up and cool-down session into the class. Slow, gentle stretching before and after helps reduce your risk of injury and muscle soreness. It could be time  to dance on over to a different class if your teacher is big on bouncing but light on stretching.

Go at Your Own Pace
The beauty of exercising to music with a group and being led by a teacher is that you tend to work harder and longer than you would on your own. That's good -- but not if you overdo it. Bouncing and straining to keep up with the class can lead to injuries. Aerobics class is not a competition. Go at your own pace. Allow your strength and flexibility to build gradually.

Watch Your Form
Good form brings better results and fewer problems. Tuck in your pelvis a little so your lower back is elongated. This protects your lower back when standing. Make sure your knee is aligned over your ankle, and no farther forward, when doing a lunge. Don't do moves that require you to lock or hyperextend your knees or elbows. Remember to monitor your breathing.

Look Straight Ahead
Looking down at your feet can cause neck and/or back pain. Pain has no place in an aerobics class or any other fitness activity. You're overdoing it if you're feeling the burn.

Wear the Proper Shoes
Don't wear just any pair of athletic shoes to aerobics class. Running shoes and tennis shoes, for instance, don't provide the cushioning and support you need. Look for shoes that cushion the ball of the foot, with good arch support that minimizes pronation (inward rotation) of the foot. Some cross-training shoes work well, so shop around.

Don't Bounce on a Bad Floor
Dancing on concrete, hardwood or linoleum-covered floors is asking for trouble. They're too hard. Dancing on a floor with too much padding isn't good either, because it allows too much rotation and pronation of the legs and feet. Ask your aerobics teacher about the floor you're dancing on. You know you've got a problem if she or he ducks the question or makes excuses.

Make sure you eat the real egg

Another  unscrupulous manufacturer.

Fake  Eggs from China  ! (Shocking  - must read ....  )

cid:1.2304736636@web55206.mail.re4.yahoo.com
Beware  u guys and gals!
During  a recent raid on a wholesale centre in Guangzhou  City , the capital of China 's  Guangdong province, a large quantity of fake eggs was  seized. Their wholesale price is 0.15 yuan (S$0.03)  each - half the price of a real egg.
Consumers have a hard time  telling a genuine egg from a fake one. This is good  news for unscrupulous entrepreneurs, who are even  conducting three-day courses in the production of  artificial eggs for less than S$150.

A  reporter with Hong Kong-based Chinese magazine  EastWeek enrolled in one such course.
To  create egg white, the instructor - a woman in her 20s  - used assorted ingredients such as gelatin, an  unknown powder, benzoic acid, coagulating material and  even alum, which is normally used for industrial  processes.

For egg yolk, some lemon-yellow  colouring powder is mixed to a liquid and the  concoction stirred. The liquid is then poured into a  round-shaped plastic mould and mixed with so-called  'magic water', which contains calcium chloride.

This gives the 'yolk' a thin outer membrane,  firming it up. The egg is then shaped with a mould.  The shell is not forgotten. Paraffin wax and an  unidentified white liquid are poured onto the fake  egg, which is then left to dry.

The artificial  egg can be fried sunny-side up or steamed. Although  bubbles appear on the white of the egg, those who have  tasted it say the fake  stuff tastes very much like the real thing  .

But  experts warn of the danger of eating fake eggs. Not  only do they not contain any nutrients, a HongKong  Chinese University professor warned that  long-term  consumption of alum could cause dementia or  mental  disease .

Something that your kid's lunch box wants to convey.

cid:27EADD5266894D61A549DBF035533797@vinaypc

Something that your kid’s lunch box wants to convey…

Sandwiches on Monday

Parathas on Tuesday

Dosa on Wednesday

Noodles on Thursday…….

Puri Sabzi ....

…and the menu was neatly chalked out for the entire week on a timetable card and hung on the kitchen wall. Not actually in the habit of eating according to timetables, but listening to the spontaneous biddings of my tongue , I asked my sister-in-law, Sridevi, who managed of our family kitchen, what this predetermined timetable was all about.

“It’s the school lunch timetable for Vaibhavi that her class teacher made for her class” she conveyed. This came as a surprise to me.

“But isn’t it you and Vaibhavi who decide upon the lunch that she would be carrying to school on a particular day?” I asked

“Yeah, Leena. That was what it used to be. But her principal has ordered the entire primary school to carry the same lunch on a particular day, so that every lunch box has the same contents each day. This was done because some children ate up the lunch of others and some of them returned home hungry on that account.” said my sister-in-law.

Vaibhavi doesn’t eat much, nor is she very fussy foodwise, but I know that everyday she lovingly asks her mother to prepare an item of her liking for her lunch at school. Does this mean that she needs to have Dosa on Wednesday when she actually feels like having a cheese burger on that day?

I remember, lunchtime was so very special during our school days. The entire gang would wait for lunchtime. The clandestine party would start much before that. We would exchange lunch boxes from underneath the desk. My friends would lap up my irresistible onion uthapam and tomato chutney, and I in turn would eagerly devour some delicious khichodi from one of the boxes.

There were people from different communities both national and international in my class, and food was one of the best reasons to make friends and know about each other’s cultures. Some of the lunchbox friendships have endured the test of time and are going strong even to this day. My friendship with my best friend Arpita began with me exchanging my puri sabzi with her French toast, and even today we are the best of friends.

Not only this, the mums who prepared the best lunches were always praised and remembered by the kids.

But with this new rule of the entire primary school having to carry the same lunch, will they have much to look forward to during lunchtime? Of course, this rule ensures that no child eats another child’s lunch and no child returns home hungry. But have children of the present times become so cruel that they will leave some of their friends hungry? I don’t think so. Even if some children are engaging in such behavior, shouldn’t we as parents teach them the ever precious lesson of sharing and caring, or should we give them a lesson that encourages an ‘each to his own’ kind of a principle? The choice is ours…

The Wonders of Banana

A professor at CCNY for a physiological psych class told his class about bananas. He said the expression "going bananas" is from the effects of bananas on the brain. Read on:

Never, put your banana in the refrigerator! !!

cid:D4E11063-AC83-42C1-BA70-038C3013CE3E
This is interesting.
After reading this, you'll never look at a banana in the same way again.

Bananas contain three natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber. A banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy.

Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout. No wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world's leading athletes.

But energy isn't the only way a banana can help us keep fit. It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.

Depression: According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND amongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.

PMS: Forget the pills - eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.

Anemia: High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of hemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia.

Blood Pressure: This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it perfect to beat blood pressure. So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the banana industry to make official claims for the fruit's ability to reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke.

Brain Power: 200 students at a Twickenham (Middlesex) school ( England ) were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert.

Constipation: High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives.

Hangovers: One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.

Heartburn: Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.

cid:A13B6830-9415-455D-B235-DB5D447DB906

Morning Sickness: Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.

Mosquito bites: Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.

Nerves: Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system.

Overweight and at work? Studies at the Institute of Psychology in Austria found pressure at work leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate and chips. Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady.

Ulcers: The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases. It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.

Temperature control: Many other cultures see bananas as a "cooling" fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Thailand , for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.

cid:C2BBDBA7-AB68-40AA-967B-1A9E79A2ECA7

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD): Bananas can help SAD sufferers because they contain the natural mood enhancer tryptophan.

Smoking &Tobacco Use: Bananas can also help people trying to give up smoking.. The B6, B12 they contain, as well as the potassium and magnesium found in them, help the body recover from the effects of nicotine withdrawal..

Stress: Potassium is a vital mineral, which helps normalize the heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain and regulates your body's water balance. When we are stressed, our metabolic rate rises, thereby reducing our potassium levels.. These can be rebalanced with the help of a high-potassium banana snack..

Strokes: According to research in The New England Journal of Medicine, eating bananas as part of a regular diet can cut the risk of death by strokes by as much as 40%!

Warts: Those keen on natural alternatives swear that if you want to kill off a wart, take a piece of banana skin and place it on the wart, with the yellow side out. Carefully hold the skin in place with a plaster or surgical tape!

cid:D4E11063-AC83-42C1-BA70-038C3013CE3E

So, a banana really is a natural remedy for many ills. When you compare it to an apple, it has four times the protein, twice the carbohydrate, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals. It is also rich in potassium and is one of the best value foods around So maybe its time to change that well-known phrase so that we say, "A banana a day keeps the doctor away!"

PASS IT ON TO YOUR FRIENDS
PS: Bananas must be the reason monkeys are so happy all the time! I will add one here; want a quick shine on our shoes?? Take the INSIDE of the banana skin, and rub directly on the shoe...polish with dry cloth. Amazing fruit !!!
